On 6th September, during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Sophie’s Legacy will join seven other incredible children’s charities to take part in a powerful 19.3-mile Cot Push from Portsmouth Hospital to Southampton Hospital. Together, we will push one hospital cot along the route as a symbol of the children and families whose lives have been forever changed by childhood cancer. Every step will help raise awareness of a disease that still doesn’t receive the attention it deserves and spark important conversations about the impact childhood cancer has on families across the UK.
This challenge is especially close to my heart. Sophie was diagnosed with cancer in September, and this September marks five years since she lost her life at just 10 years old. What began as Sophie’s wish to make life better for children in hospital has grown into a charity that supports thousands of families facing the toughest days of their lives. We provide food, play, practical essentials, family support, and campaign for improvements in children’s healthcare so that no family feels alone during their hospital journey.
By sponsoring our Cot Push, you are helping us continue Sophie’s legacy. Every donation will enable us to keep providing vital support to families in hospital, fund projects that improve patient experiences, and continue fighting for positive change. Five years on, Sophie’s kindness and determination continue to inspire everything we do. Thank you for supporting us, remembering Sophie, and helping us turn her legacy into hope for so many others.
